Johnson Kahili IV
Author, Tales of Nu‘alolo Valley series
Johnson Kahili IV is a fourth-generation Hawaiian and author of the Tales of Nu‘alolo Valley series. Originally from the Big Island, he is currently a middle school educator in Hilo, Hawai‘i, where he works with students struggling with academic and behavioral challenges. His interests include building FPV drones, water sports, writing fiction, and enjoying the quiet atmosphere of a tropical lifestyle.
Jess Wright Buha
Adaptor, Read-Aloud Plays™
Jess Wright Buha is an internationally-produced, award-winning audio dramatist. She has written a critically-acclaimed audio drama for Marvel’s newest running app, Marvel Move, and her work has received the BBC Best Podcast Award in 2021 (for Unwell: A Midwestern Gothic Mystery). She has written over a dozen adaptations of classic literature, including Leo Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina and James Joyce’s Ulysses, and her stage plays have been performed by Lifeline Theatre, Filament Theatre, South Africa’s National Children’s Theatre, among many others. She also co-created and wrote the Soundlab series, four informational videos produced by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra that have been used by elementary music educators around the world.
